The Indian Army's First ALH Rudra Armed Copter

Spent an hour at the Yelahanka base today scoping out this year's line-up. Standing proud outside the HAL pavilion is this beauty -- the first ALH Rudra that will be delivered this week to the Indian Army. Been posting recently about the platform in case you're looking for more information.

Why is it the Electro-Optical system on the Rudra and consequently on the LCH such a joke ??

Couldn't they find a decent EO/IR pod from Israel if not America ??

The crude placement, design and incongruity only reinforces the perception of a jury rigged helicopter in some shed.

Such unfailingly crude engineering is the leitmotif of HAL products.
