My 2 cents1)Real visibility may be an issue with this cockpit design,unless they do some minor modification with it.2)What about all moving tail?? This one seems small.3)Wings are probably on the shorter side. But then it's just my observation.4)Overall a decent design only if they can pull it off. All the best.

This looks just like F22. Well, I wouldn't blame our stakeholders for taking that route because we are already late to the game and there is no point in reinventing the wheel. The tail looks immaturely close and stable for a stealth aircraft. That looks like something out of Iran's arsenal. Hopefully, we will induct this plane or atleast see it fly when rest of the world is still using 5th gen fighters. @shiv - it was reported that India has extensively invested in developing UCAVs. Is that true? If yes, are we reaching anywhere on that front. China developed a UCAV that shares pretty much all attributes of the reaper.
This would be another hoax played around by ADA/DRODO/HAL. With all these mock up models displayed for years, the final model would look almost like Tejas lol. (remember the MK2 design displays)
Whats with the vertical stabilizers? Its either path-breaking or someone simply forgot all about them.
What is the scale of this model? The pronounced forward sweep of the wing reminds about Berkut. It was supposed to enhance agility. Which engine will AMCA use?
With the engines laid out side by side, where will it house its weapons? Certainly not outside!
Looks like crap! This is the kind of thing Lockheed or Boeing might have come up with in the 50s if they were competing in a "stealth" race. ADA sucks big time!
A very peculiar wing unlike F-22 Raptor or FGFA. Looks like a diamond shape like the cancelled Northrop YF-23.
pathetic design.. needs alot of remodelling.. if northrop model with the similar design is cancelled I dont see any reason for this one to prosper

The Northrop YF-23 was cancelled in favor of F-22 the worlds best fighter. Nothing wrong with Northrop design itself just that F-22 raptor was perferred over it for various reasons and US couldn't carry on with 2 parallel programs. And yea it probably will have plenty of tweaking & remodeling but that doesn't meant its "pathetic design". It's only a concept or a wind tunnel model at this point not a complete design yet.
Well I like this new design,very good design but i think there should not be too gap between front and back wing.

they have learned nothing from the russians .how can they progress with this shit design that was rejected by the americans in the 90s and from where will they get an engine that can create 170 kn of power
Designing a "stealth" fighter without any engines or radars or missile for this aircraft is the kind of foolishness we have come to see from DRDO/ADA. From whom is HAL going to beg the engines that are going to power this thing ?? India would be better served joining the Japanese or the Korean next generation fighter programs - at least those nations have experience building fighters and radars ingeniously. The Japanese have even developed their own turbofan engines for their fighters and they are struggling with 4th generation fighters. India's chances are like Iran's Qaher - absurdly pretentious!
C'mon guys, its a very decent design and a one that will definitely see more tweaks for good. Engines won't be a problem with Russia being with us in a joint venture for 5th Gen a/c. This is not even near the final design, but if they're heading this road, they're going to do well.
think about it, could it be a reason for India to joint venture with Russia for T50? for radar and engine etc?. 5th Gen a/c , 8 billion dollars and only 144 orders? We've more Rafales in line for God's sake. Why would we spend Billions in 4.5 Gen aircraft when we are sharing the technology of 5th Gen? Well, of course they/you'll can argue on it by stating the budget cuts and the needs of IAF. But then again , it could be to bridge the gap of technology for the AMCA and stealth UCAVs to come.
Its a design with stealth concept of yf-23 fused with f-22 front end & tail reminiscent of a proved 4th generation design(which needs to be tweaked with all moving tail design.). It is no doubt better stealthy than certain f-22 i.e in terms of wing design as yf-23 was better stealthy than f-22 as reported but whether power plant or engine (K-10 Kaveri)can supplement its stealth, super-cruise & super-maneuverability is a question mark as the kaveri is still a concept & we know how the industry is in terms of design. the only question now remains can we get a right platform in right time with proven concepts.Regards,Digbijaya Singh
It all boils down to the engine. Unless we are not ready with Kaveri in 4-5 years max we have no choice but to beg the americans for more f414 engines which they well sell in limited quantities at absurd prices. What I can see is that we are getting good at making stealth platforms. Sensors are either under development or can be purchased from eu/us.
The tail surfaces must remain "flying" under all circumstances or else the aircraft may not recover from certain flight regimes.This is why experts thought that the IL28's swept tail was actually better at M=0.8 than the Canberra's unswept tail surfaces though both aircraft had unswept wings.It would suffer less from incipient compressibility problems.Now look at the AMCA mock up. It has considerable LE sweep indicating high speed capability but then look at the Fin! It has less sweep than even a Kiran or a HTT40. So unless that fin is only 3 or 4% thick- with all its attendant structural and flow separation problems- this represent utter carelessness and hurried work. What chance AMCA if this is the level of care!
